5 Luxury Living Rooms with Modern Classic Style

Los Angeles based interior designer, Mark Cutler uses a variety of design styles to create rooms that are a true reflection of his celebrity clients.

1.

Atherton Living Room

An eclectic design for an Atherton home in Silicon Valley. This modern home made use of a variety of styles to create a room that feels like it has evolved over time. With a combination of vintage pieces, like the brutalist lamps and modern design elements like the wood and glass coffee table with polished brass accents, the room creates a collected feel.

Using an antique Oushak rug, the background is one of understated luxury and refinement, made more interesting by the dramatic contemporary art statement.

2.

This luxury Living Room in the enclave of Hidden Hills in Los Angeles blends a modern rustic style with a traditional design sense. The carved stone fireplace anchors the neutral color room and creates a dramatic focal point. Using persimmon as an accent color creates a counterpoint to the hand distressed walnut plank floors.

Steel doors and windows make the traditional space feel more modern, along with the clean lines of the mahogany chairs in the center of the room.

3.

For a more traditional style home in Toluca Lake, celebrity Interior designer Mark Cutler used a simple green and white color scheme and garden prints to bring the outside in and make this luxurious living room feel almost like part of the garden. The reversible woven floral design is used on the English style sofa and the reverse is used for the pinch pleat drapery with natural shades.

A custom wool plaid rug anchors the room that is dominated by the symmetrical walnut bookcases that hold a selection of unique home accessories.

4.

This home in Woodside is on the edge of the famous Silicon Valley and features a traditional design with contemporary art and deep natural wood colors that are accented with saffron yellow. With some asian accents, the room presents an eclectic feel of neutral colors with pops of yellow and chocolate brown to add interest to this dramatic living room.

A tibetan rug was custom made for this room and anchors the seating space while the black lacquer piano fills the corner near the precast fireplace surround.

5.

Located in the Millenium building in San Francisco this apartment in an exclusive enclave is a study in quiet restrained elegance. The antique oushak rug, with its subtle color palette of ivory and grey create the starting point for the whole room. Using  a combination of textures from velvet and mohair to leather and alpaca the room is a soothing retreat.

Metal accents create interest with home accessories and natural wood furniture set a standard for quality and luxury.
